Why is my laptop not turning?

Why does the back light on my laptop screen keep turning off?

• Randomly the back light on my laptop screen keeps turning off. It isnt going into powersaving mode or anything, i have already tried that. It will turn itself at random times, and the only way i have found to fix it is to just restart my laptop. The scrren is still on, cause when you look really closesly you can still see the image on the screen, it just isnt lit. PLEASE HELP!!

Ebay has them and Youtube has how-to videos. It's a small green circuit board a little bigger than a popsicle stick.
