How can i fake a sinus infection?

How long does loss of taste last with a cold/sinus infection? What can i do?

  • I am just getting to the end, hopefully,of a sinus infection/cold.Ive been on amoxicillan,decongestants,meds,nebulizer... feel great. The only thing is i cant taste anything and my nose feels full a little.I have a runny nose. This has been for 4 days now. Is this loss of taste thing normal? How long does it last? Any pointers as to what i can do to help move along? Im trying Ayrs Sinus Gel with Aloe inside my nose. I cant take cold meds because i have a thyroid condition.

  • Answer:

Loss of taste/smell can certainly happen. How long it lasts depends on how long it takes to get all that junk out of there. Hate to tell you, but it once took me a month... Spicy foods seem to help clear out the sinuses. So does steam, so the nebulaizer is a good step, as are hot showers. Both the steam and the spice are to get your nose running, so you can blow stuff out.
