Why does my CPU spike to 80-100% when sending an e-mail.?
-
This problem has been happening over the last few weeks. I have been using the same setup for several years. Have not added any new programs or downloaded any new software that is running in the background. I am using Google Chrome for browser. When I am browsing, my CPU is around 0-10%. Youtube videos, 40-80% spike, then mellows out to about 30%. I will only have one window, one tab open. Sending an email through yahoo. And about 30% of the time, right when i click send, it maxes out to 100% CPU, the window freezes, and I have to close through task manager. The e-mail never sends. Really annoying when I write a very long e-mail and it doesn't send or save as a draft. Running Windows 7, 32bit AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ 2.20GHz 2GB RAM

Answer:
Try sending a very shot one, Send it to your self, in subject put TEST and the main typing area put TEST as well, if it still dose that it is possible you have a "unknown program running" aka a virus. Then run you anti virus at MAX strength and try defrag just type that in your Search bar at the bottom. Hope that helps

You probably have some malware your freebie antivirus software is not detecting.
