Why can't doctors find a permanent cure for acid reflux?

I have acid reflux for over a year now and am taking nexium 40 and am sick of it.Why can't doctors find a permanent cure for acid reflux by the way am only 20 years old.

Had my own acid reflux problem 4 years ago and took 42 days to finish the treatment, have not had a serious recurring since then. But it some time will take more than one treatment to cure your acid reflux, it's not unusual taking 2-3 treatments to get you back to normal life. Good luck!
