What happened to Gus from Eastenders a few months ago?

My cat came home with no tail about 6 months ago and it still looks like it just happened.?

  • She just showed up at the house with her tail missing, it was short to begin with. We treated it with advice from a retired vet. After 6 months, maybe longer, it still looks like it just happened. It has never looked infected or anything. Anything like this ever happened to ANYONE else's cat? I am concerned because she is an outside cat and she has been gone for a few weeks and just showed up at our house pregnant, and I have no idea how far along she is. I am worried about it cause I don't know if it could affect the kittens. To make this clear, I did call the vet when this happened and it was looked at by a vet. It was treated per his recommendation and I am still having problems with it. I will take her again to get her looked at, but as for getting her spayed WHILE she is pregnant, I would NEVER take the life of 5 kittens just for the sake of saving money, even if it is $2,500. Thank you all for your advice and I would love additional advice if it is CONSTRUCTIVE as most of your answers have been to this point.

  • Answer:

Often an injury involving the base of the tail causes nerve damage - she may not be able to deliver those kittens. She needs to get to a vet to be seen, as this is way beyond home treatment. The cause of the tail not healing needs to be determined, and she needs to be spayed or you're going to end up with a whopping vet bill when she needs an assisted delivery for the kittens - my local vet charges up to $2500 for this procedure, so hopefully you'll either get her spayed and taken care of, or have money like that to spare.

Cats bodies are almost identical to human bodies. Id take her to a vet for an evaluation. If it is infected or shows any signs, yes it could and most likely will affect the kittens. It could also cause blood clotting during birth leading to the mothers death.
