I Need Business Name Ideas.

Ideas! I need some opinions on a name for my business.?

  • I am a photographer and a graphic designer. I am looking for ideas for a catchy yet professional name for my business. Right now the name is just plain old "Photography by Kelly Marie". I shoot all occasions and also do model's portfolios. I also do graphic designs for all occasions. Any ideas are welcome! (and those of you that choose to be ignorant and rude, thank you too!) I may just like your idea also! :)

    Why the panic? The name is fine. If the work is superlative, it'll become famous. Concentrate on the quality of the work. That's being said, "KMW Photography" and "KMW Design" are professional sounding. "Wood Photography" might give you trouble, people thinking you only shoot driftwood or something. I'd separate my cards into the photography and graphic design businesses... people want to hire experts, not dabblers so avoid giving that impression.

As a business degree holder, the #1 rule they teach us in school is: make sure what your business *does* is in the name. Barne's Electric = Yes Zappy Barnes = No The desire/temptation to be cutesy/witty/smart with the business naming can be a serious downfall to establishing a customer base. If I think of anything clever but still with the word photography or something like that, I'll come back and edit :) But, the whole "say what your business does" in the business name was important enough to contribute. good luck!
