Background check for a job?

I recently applied for a job that requires background/fingerprints check. Can you pass the fingerprints check ?

  • And fail the background? Or they are the same? I have plead no contest in a minor misdemeanor charge of disordely conduct in 2009. My prospective employer asked me for the court disposition which i sent it to them. After receiving the court disposition they told me that the background check was still pending to be completed, few hours later i received and automatic email saying : fingerprints: passed. That means that i have pass the background check or just the fingerprints? Are they diferent? Can i pass fingerprints and fail background check?? Pleaseeeee advise ......
