How high do you need to jump in order to do a backflip?
-
a backflip (or backtuck). I'm wondering if you need to jump really high to do a backflip or not. I don't jump very high so I'm wondering if it's even worth pursuing a backflip. If anyone could answer if you need to jump super high, or a certain height that you should be able to jump, it would be great.

Well, I'd say your feet can only get off the ground so much, but when you tuck your body into a ball, it makes you seem higher than you are, because it makes you seem smaller in size. When you're in the ball, I'd guess that you're in the air about how tall you are standing up. There is no requirement for how high you need to jump, just to where you don't fall on your face. Practice on a bed or trampoline until you have the motion down first, then go to a soft surface and onto a hard one. Then you can practically do it anywhere. Good Luck =)

Well you don't necessarily need to jump high just "high enough" for you to get around. I'd say watch some youtube videos and practice in a cushioned area. The main thing with doing a backflip/tuck is how fast you get around if your taller that should be your main focus. SO just practice, practice, practice you'll get them eventually.

You need to get a lot of power off the ground in order to do a back tuck, and you need to jump really high. You should probably go to a gymnastics class or open gym and get spot. Good Luck and be safe:)

Getting your technique right first is the most important thing and a trampoline is the best way of doing so,otherwise you may end up finding yourself landing on your head with a broken neck.
