What longboard should I get?

What kind of longboard should i get?

  • I'm a beginner and I want a longboard to cruise around!I've been looking at the Sector 9 Mama Say Longboard. Ive heard that the longer the board, the easier it is to get your feet comfortable and balance...is that true? Ive also heard pintails are best for cruising. Im having difficulty trying to find the best board for me...i'm only 4'11 and i'm a girl. I don't like Never Summer. Any suggestions?? also i was looking at Orignal...are they any good? thanks!!

the longer the board the easier to balance but tricks on a long board are very hard and it gets harder to turn the longer it is but most of it depends on where you surf for example if you surf in places with small fast waves i would recommend a medium sized sector 9 but the bigger the if they are big power full waves your gonna want to go longer to get more balance but i prefer a short board over a long board any time anywhere they are just so much more fun but no matter what your doing as long as its surfing its fun so good luck and please choose as best answer i) :)

I recommend looking at some Gravity boards. Longer the board does not necessarily mean easier. I find it sluggish, but it does mean more footspace to do some dancing or freestyle tricks. It is easier to manuever on a smaller board. Something 33" - 38" is good.
