What is a matinee ticket?

What happens if you don't pay a parking ticket?

  • In January I had gotten a $200.00 handicap parking ticket at my apartment complex in Iowa also happens to be where I work A friend of mine was in the car and I was in a hurry so I ran quickly parked and had not noticed the handicap sign. There was snow on the ground I didn't see the lines. I in my apartment a total of 1 minute and as I approached my car I see a cop car sitting near my car. Once I got in the car my friend informs me that I got a ticket. I grabbed it from the wind shield and assumed it was a $15.00 improper parking ticket. Since I was in a hurry I didn't go talk to the officer and just thought I would pay the $15.00. The next morning I looked at the ticket I had received and I saw it was a $200.00 parking ticket. I made a court date but long story short. I didn't go to the right court house due to i am not familiar with the area. I called the court house and spoke to the judge and she said I could try to write a statement to reschedule the unmade court date or I could pay the parking ticket. I go to college here but my permit address is 100 miles away in Iowa. My question is what happens when you don't pay a handicap parking Ticket in Iowa? People have said that there is no way they will be able to find you since you have lived here. Others say I might have to pay extra late fees.
