Why can't I taste or smell at all after a cold?

I cant smell or taste anything?WHY?

• I have been battling a sinus infection for over a month.Im just about over it.The only thing left is the inside of my nose hurts and i have lost the ability to smell or taste.I used alot of nose sprays this past month,along with salt and warm water flushes,and a netipot. Im wondering if i damamged anything and now i cant smell. But whats strange is i do smell and taste once in a great while.Every so often i smell something,but then later it goes away i i cant smell or taste a thing. If i can smell and taste once in a while,does that mean i didnt damage anything and its just i still have this sinus thing going on? Im very worried!

  Don't worry about it, most people who have had a sinus infection say the same thing but if you're still worried about it, going to a local doctor never hurts. I hope you feel better!
