• Universities with aviation programs or offer flight training? Does anyone know of good colleges that have aviation programs or at least offer non-degree flight train? I am currently looking for possible schools i would be interested in transferring to. I'm already a biochem/genetics major and have no intention of stopping, but i have recently decided that i am going to pursue my dream of becoming a pilot as well(or at least give myself the option).   Do you have 100-200k in cash, or are you prepared to go into that much debt? On _top_ of your current biochem/genetics stuff? My gosh you are talking some serious cash. If I were you I'd ditch the whole idea of looking for good colleges to transfer to just for flight training. Why not just get your private pilot's license on the side? You know, like NOT from a college? Will only cost you a few thousand bucks (ok maybe 4-5k) and a couple months. If you want to go further than that then by all means you can do that as well. Whatever you do, don't get a degree in anything aviation related, it is absolutely worthless. Your existing degree is all you need.
