How do I find out if I'm eligible for Medicaid?

I need the 2006 Alabama Medicaid income guidelines. The Medicaid office doesn't have them.?

  • A member of my family is being sued for Medicaid fraud. The case has already been dropped against her husband, but her lawyer is asking for the 2006 AL Medicaid income guidelines. I called the medicaid office, but (surprisingly enough) they don't have that information. I've spent quite a while slogging through google and AL govn't websites with nothing to show for it. Does anyone know where i can find what im looking for?

  • Answer:

Look up the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare, or the Department of Health and Human Services. But incomes guidelines vary in different counties within each state. Call your case worker at Medicaid in your county and ask that person to show you proof. Medicaid must have proof that your family's income exceeded the Medicaid limits. If they didnt have proof they would not be asking for repayment. When you request the hearing they will have to show you proof.
