How do I know if I am allergic to Omeprazole?

How do I know what type of earrings I'm allergic to?

  • So I got my ears pierced when I was like a month old, and since then I've been wearing straight up gold. Nothing silver or plastic or anything. I wore different earrings but they were all made of gold. So my dad came back from his vacation a few weeks ago and got me these adorable seashell earrings, which I've already gotten like 50 compliments on. But like by 1 week and a half, my earrings started to hurt. Not hurt but like they felt weird if I touched them, and became a little painful. And when ever I would start taking them out and back in, they were a little painful while taking out. It started to get more and more painful. And I started to figure I was just allergic to the type of earring. But I didn't even know what type of silver the earring had. Plus, I forgot about it cause it was mostly the right ear that hurt more, but the left was painful too so I'm probably allergic. And I know it wasn't infected, even though I thought it was but; it wasn't red, bumpy, swollen, didn't have anything coming out of it, or hot, and when I switched bag to my old gold ones, the whole pain thing went away. I put some salt water on my ear so idk if it was cause of the salt water but anyways my ears are better now. The thing I'm wondering is; how do I find out what type of earrings I'm allergic to? Like I'm going into another year to high school and starting to do more online shopping and I have earrings online I'm about to buy soon but they're not gold or you know like pure silver or whatever. So how would I know what type I'm allergic to? I heard that I should like try on all these different earrings to see the results but ugh just seems like work to me -.- And is there like a way to go to the doctors and they'll be like "oh your allergic to only nickel earrings, everything else should be fine" and then online when shopping for earrings, would they say the type? Like would they say if one earring is made of gold or platinum or steel or etc. PLEEEAASEE HELP!

  • Answer:

Usually it's very easy to spot an allergic reaction and here's one way to do it. If about every time that you wear earrings you notice your ears are oozing clear fluid very similar to blood except that its clear you are probably allergic to earrings. Symptoms of nickel allergy, which usually begin between six and 24 hours after exposure to a nickel-containing item, include itching, redness, and swelling of the skin, possibly followed by the development of blisters. The blisters may break, leaving crusts and scales. Later, the skin may become dark, leathery, and cracked. Usually the rash is confined to the area of skin in direct contact with the nickel; however, severe cases may extend beyond the contact area, especially if you touch nickel with your fingers and then touch your face, eyelids, or genitals. If you are sensitive to nickel, sweating may make your reaction to it worse, because sweat allows the metal ions to be more readily absorbed into the skin.

You could be allergic to maybe nickel or sterling silver or something but usually they always have to say what type of earring it is; for allergy information. It's like putting ingredients or something. So yeah, usually they'd say it but I'd avoid any dodgy earrings!
