Ebay Bidding Question?

Ebay question about bidding?

  • Hi. I have an item for sale. One person has bid on it. My roommate has an ebay account as well. If I get my roommate to bid on the item against the other guy and then once the other guy gets fed up and stops bidding, I get my friend to cancel his bids. Therefore increasing the price for which my item will sell for. Is there a catch here? If my friend cancels his bids will the items price resort back to its original price or will it sell for the last bid the other guy made? eg other guy bids 10 friend bids 12 other guy 15 friend bids 18 other guy bids 20 friend bids 22 other guy stops bidding my friend cancels his bids Item sells for $20 to "other guy"?

  • Answer:

If your friend withdraws his bid, all of his bids are cancelled....so the item goes to whoever bid highest without competing with your friend. In your example it would go for 10 bc he wouldn't have bid higher than that if ur friend wasn't bidding
