If a group of people is jumping you, is it legal to use a weapon such as a knife?

• I have always been curious about this, but what would happen if a group of people attacked/jumped you. All were unarmed, is it then justifiable to use a weapon? Im aware if that one person is armed in the group, it is at least legal to attack him. But lets put this into a couple of different scenarios, I would like an answer to all of them #1 You are walking down the street, a group of people attack you. They attack first, of course unarmed. is it legal to pull a knife? #2 You are at a social function (party, concert etc...) a group of people are instigating a fight with you, but none of them have struck. You pull a knife just in case something happens, they in turn attack you, all of them once you pulled the knife, is it justifiable to use in that situation? #3. You are in an argument with a group of people who are instigating a fight. One of them threatens to kill you and then they all advance. is it legal to use a knife in that situation since they threatened your life?

  These are all good questions. However, it's really how good of a lawyer that they have. They can turn it around on you if they try hard enough.
