Name change for my college diploma from BMCC?

The college I went to was BMCC, and i graduated there in 2007. In 2009 , i had my name legally changed through the courts and had all my documents changed with my new name but I dont understand why my college diploma cant be changed with my new name on it. They school told me that I had to let them know of the name change week before graduation. Now I am stuck with the old name on my diploma. Is there any way I can take some sort of action to get my new name on my diploma?
