What are some websites where I can find entry level jobs?

Why is it so hard to find entry level positions?

  • I graduated college last May and I'm STILL trying to find a job. All the jobs listed want at least a couple of years of professional experience. As a recent college grad (who still hasn't found a job 10 months later) the only professional experiece I have is an internship that lasted about 4 months (how long the semester was). My major is English so I'm looking at jobs in publishing (my eventual plan is law school but I just can't afford that right now, obviously.) Every website I go to that says "entry level jobs" ends up listing jobs that ask for at least 2-3 years experience, which I don't have. Does anyone know any LEGITIMATE entry level job websites? Or does anyone have an suggestions other than publishing for an entry level job for an English major? I'm desperate, please help!! Thanks.

It is not you, nor you degree. Everyone is having problem looking for job now. there are just too many people looking for job now. I graduated in Queens college (CUNY) CS major but couldn't land a job that's related to my field. I don't know any site but i just keep my eye open. i check craigslist/classified Ads/monster daily. I think it is better to get a job (any job) rather than sitting home. As least you get some "work" experience

Consider working with your school's career development and placement center OR contacting your former professors for advice and guidance.

English is a major with a lot more grads than there are jobs. so it's harder. Keep looking. Good luck.

It's not you. It's the degree. Too many graduates out there and not enough demand by employers. I would consider going back to school and getting a degree in something that is in demand for your future. Try to work any job, even retail during the day and attend school at night. Focus in degrees in Accounting, finance, medicine, engineering, computers. The future is going to be rough, and you want to make sure an employer will hire you so that you can feed yourself when you are 30 years old. Dissapointed your parents did not warn you about this degree.
