Answer:
Don't do anything that rash like giving up riding a bike. If you like the Fat Boy and Fat Bob bikes, but can't afford one, then look at used ones. That will save you some cash. Also, you can put forward controls on them. That helps with the leg room. I'm 6'-3" (long legs) and ride a Harley FXD. I wasn't very impressed with the leg room with the standard mid controls, but when the forward controls were put on, wow what a difference. It was instant comfort. It's well worth the added cost of the forward controls to gain the comfort. There's a bike out there in your price range and with some forward controls, perfectly comfortable for riding. Keep on looking. Harleys are great bikes, never give up, it's out there!

If the big Harley Davidson bikes are out of your price range, you could always try a metric cruiser. Suzuki Boulevard Honda Shadow Kawasaki Vulcan Yamaha (Star) All lines have similar bikes to Harley. For example a 2012 Suzuki Boulevard M90 will have similar dimensions to a 2012 Harley Fat Boy Soft Tail but will cost about $6100 less. Or Have you considered a used Harley? You can find a nice used Harley Fat Boy or Fat Bob for even less money than a new metric cruiser. There is a bike out there for you. You just need to look harder and keep an open mind. Going through 2 bikes that you are not satisfied with is your fault. You need to spend more time evaluating potential new bikes. Sit on them long enough and you will figure out if the bike fits you. You will also figure this out during a test ride. Take the time to figure out if the bike fits you before you buy your next bike. Do this instead of just buying a name and you will not waste your money on bikes that you don't like.

My brother is 6'4" and he found the Yamaha sports bikes to be comfortable. Try a different style of bike, just go into a shop and sit on a few. Apparently the Yama's are built a little better for taller guys. but i can only speak in regards to the sport/super sport styles.

Some choppers would work for you I think but Yamahas would fit best. I'm 6'3" and I ride an 81 Yamaha 550 maxim. Yamahas are made for taller people. My old lady is 5'9"and she can't even touch the ground with her toes. Lol

I know a fellow who is 6'8", and has owned several 1,000cc sport-bikes over the years. He's never had a complaint about comfort or not fitting.

Go used, the Honda V65 (1100cc) Sabre had a 33" saddle height, massive torque, no curve more like a ramp and speed.
Dan
Think Used Motorcycles.
