How to lower high blood pressure?

My mom has high blood pressure of 180/100.. Doc has recommended for medicine..but my mom is not willing for medicine..At the time she is also suffering from Urine infection..is it possible that bp is high to due infection? and How do we lower such high bp without medication? Is it possible?? how do we do that? Help! Thankss.....

Her blood pressure is really high. I really think she should use medication. Lifestyle changes are effective, such as lowering salt, reducing alcohol intake, smoking cessation, and exercise. However, lifestyle changes are usually only for people who's blood pressure is just a bit on the high side. Your mom's blood pressure is really high, and again, i would recommend she listen to her doctor and start the medication. Once she gets it under control, she could maybe ask about coming off of it and just focusing on lifestyle.

The two are not related. Her BP is so high she will likely have many problems with it for the remainder of her life. Her failure to take medicines to treat it will make this go downhill very fast.
