Job is a sham or not? I need my transcripts and other information for my other job?

• I have not been on yahoo-answer for a while, but I have a scenario and questions to ask so bare with me. Alright I have been looking for a job in the educational system for a while I have been a teacher before and I have three degrees in education.... six months ago I found a posting on craigslist for a directors position at a daycare/ after-school facility. I sent a cover-letter and resume via email on a sunday and the lady called me back immediately and said my cover-letter and resume was great but shes not looking for a director, she is looking for a teacher for the preschool sector and a teacher for her after-school program and I agreed to stay on board, she then tells me that she is building a new daycare and I said alright still agreed to be with her.... when she asked for recommendation letter I went to her home and gave them to her, my official transcripts I gave them to her, Certificates I gave them to her, and a couple of times she lost my information so I would have to replace it, she would always tell me "don't look for a new job" at first I was like "alright" but after 3 months I had to find another job because she wasn't able to give me a job at her other establishments.... last month I went to her home to ask how the process was going she said she couldn't talk at that moment so I called her later that day and she said that the department of child protective service looked into my transcripts and I didn't have enough credits to be a teacher but IU can be a teachers assistant, another blow was she said I could not start working for her until another teacher come on board... after months of waiting I decided to get two jobs for support, because I was getting low on cash I work at a Walmart and I am a teacher at another establishment. My boss at my job where I am a teacher asked me for my official transcripts because she has photo copies of my three degrees and unofficial transcripts but not my official transcripts, but the lady with the daycare/ school has my official transcripts and I want my official transcripts for the job that I am actually working for now, when I called and asked for my information I gave her, including my transcripts, she doesn't reply to emails, or says "I will talk to you later" I talked to my sister 2 months ago and she said somethings fishy about this establishment especially if the lady is telling you not to get another job and saying you can not work until other teachers bring in their information. two days didn't sent her an email stating "I need my transcripts from her on thursday thank you" usually she sends me a message immediately this time she didn't I am tired of waiting on her. mind you my teaching job I have now I saw the establishment the same day as my interview, but with the woman than own the daycare/ after-school facility, I didn't see the daycare until 5 month after I agreed to be a teachers assistant and I was the one who initiated the fact that I have never seen the daycare and would like to see it. Am I too harsh with this her lady and establishment? Was I wrong for getting another job to support myself? Should I bring the cops into this situation? Do you think she can use my information for someone she already has working as credential? What would you have done and is the time frame in which you would waste on getting a certain job that you haven't yet? Would you wait after 6 months for a job or would you ask for your information in return? Do you think this is a sham?

  This is a waste of your time. Spend another $6 per transcript and get new ones. And this time, scan them into .pdf files so that you can print out color copies. Whoever hires you can work with copies of an official transcript until you're actully hired, at which point, you can give them the originals if they must have them. You should have walked away the first minute that you learned that she had falsely advertised for a director. If not then, certainly the first time she lost your documents. What exactly are the cops going to do? "Officer, she kept my transcript!" You need to accept the fact that there probably IS no daycare, and you got scammed. Contact each of the credit bureaus and put a hold on your credit so that no one can open an account or change any information without first calling you. Now, here's a question: if in fact you have three degrees in education, why are you looking for a job on Craig's List instead of on valid, credible websites that specialize in teaching and other education positions? You need to apply for as many positions as you can, not apply for one and then wait, because some school systems or agencies won't contact you at all. As for your long story, the next time you tell it, ask people to BEAR with you, not "bare." One bears a heavy burden; one doesn't unclothe it.
