Hi i was hoping someone could help me with my problem?

I'd really like to start homes-schooling.Could someone please help?

  • I'm 14 currently attending 3rd year in Ireland,Dublin.First off I truly do not like school, not because of friends but because of the education, the teachers and the way it works,I might even gotten into a disorder where I just hate school so much I wake up normally dress go to school and halfway I'd be like "What if blah blah.I just won't go" and I literally go back home.I always tell my parents we didn't have school at all or we had a halfday..I can't tell them I have a problem, they'd generally think I'm crazy, they're not so understandable.I also get sick alot and because of that I miss school ALOT.Today the same thing happened I just didnt go,I knew I'd be better off home,Deep down,I did not think.I went back home and my mom called from her school as she's taking adult educational programme,She called me and told me that the principal called saying I have to come to school I have missed too much of it,Before that I lied to her again saying most of our year is going to germany so I the people staying dont have to go to school till monday. So she called me after the principal called and told me about it and that I need to get dressed and go to school,I am literally crying right now cause I'm tired of lying to her.So today I decided to tell her about what I feel and how I feel, and what I did, knowing her she won't listen and probaby shout at me,but deep down I'm hoping she'll hug me and tell me its alright.I've decided to ask her if I could be homeschooled,I;ve asked her this before same with my dad and it was a total no,but I just really feel I could pull up my standards more at home as I'll actually enjoy it,I will not have to walk to school thinking over things that make me go back home,i will not have the problems with principal and finally I will not feel the way I feel right now, empty. So I'd really appriciate if someone answered a few of my questions..First off,I'm not from Ireland and my first language isnt english,my mom gets Back to Education allowence, and she gets money for both me and my brother, would me being homeschooled affect any of the incomes she gets? How does a home schooling program work,do I need to get my own books? What do i do if I want to do Junior Cert,Do I go somewhere? if so where? If I'm homeschooled do the Educational committee help my mom financially in my education? What are the steps I need to take in order to get homeschooled? And lastly, please pray for me.I know it sounds absolutely pethetic but I would just like my mom to understand, for once, hear me out.sometimes I even think I'd be better off dead.Honestly,I'm not looking for attention,I just feel like sometimes I bring so much sadness into my parents life,It hurts me watching how they are mad at me because I didnt go to school etc. .I'd really appreciate a quick response as my mom comes back in an hour and I'm trying to get as much information as possible.thank you for reading this.<3

  • Answer:

Here's how my family did it. 1. Get into contact with your local home school group, if there is one. They will help you find curriculum, tutors, and even legal support. 2. Attend a home school curriculum fair. Fairs are a great way to find textbooks and supplies for your courses. 3. Find home school blogs and groups on the internet. These groups can give you new ideas for your studies and let you contrast and compare your home school style with others. 4. Plan your schedule and home school!

check out www.education-otherwise.net it is totally legal and an alternative to schooling. It is simply a choice. shall I educate my child, or should I delegate it to a school. Most parents dint know they are making a choice, they just go with what everyone else does. As it is a legally free choice, then I don't see why your mother should stop receiving payments.. however she would HAVE to be on board with it, and actually deliver your education unless you go on an autonomous route where you educate yourself... there are so many types of home education, because its about YOU and an education that suits YOU. there is NO set curriculum to follow you just need to show the relevant authorities that you are being educated to a standard relative to your needs and you are being prepared for life in a modern world. Also check out http://www.interhigh.co.uk which is an online high school. My son attends this school. School refusal syndrome and school phobia are REAL conditions, and diagnosed by a doctor (probably after some tests/time etc) might be able to get home tutored where a teacher from your school comes to your house. My friend daughter refused to go to school through fear and other emotional problems and they sent a teacher 2 times a week her house. Its a reasonable option, but if you do decided - well your PARENTS - decide you must send a letter to the school "de-registering" you and stating that you are receiving education otherwise to school. There is a template of the letter on http://www.education-otherwise.net I hope it helps x
