Should I get the Invert Mini?

What Paintball Gun Should I Get?

  • I am stuck between guns here and I need help. I want to buy used. What I would like is a speedball marker (Invert Mini, Empire Axe, Planet Eclipse Etek 2, planet Eclipse Etek 3, Dangerous Power G4, or a Bob Long) I want to get one of these guns with a mask, Dye Rotor Hopper, and air tank. What should I do? How much would I be spending? How much should I spend? PS: I play both woodsball and speedball!!!

  • Answer:

Without more details, the price might vary quite a bit. As far as the marker, any of them would be good enough for starting in speedball and easily good enough for woodsball. Invert Mini and Empire Axe are virtually the same marker. These are perhaps the smallest and lightest of any marker choices you might make. A good choice for some women and kids who might not want to carry a heavy marker. For guys, this is about as light as it gets. Etek2 or Etek3 are also nearly the same. Either of these would be a good choice. I know several guys that have one or have had one of the PE markers. Light enough for speedball and plenty reliable. The only issues I've seen with them are common with all electronic markers. DP G4 or bob long? Not as popular where I usually play so I can't offer any advice. For any of the markers, check reviews online. For speedball, you will be limited to one of the tournament modes and most likely 15bps or less. Virtually any good electronic marker made in the last 10 years can do 15bps. The only concern might be upgrading the electronics to be legal for current rules for older markers. HPA tank expect to pay about $150. I might be high or low depending on brand etc. Make sure you get a 4500psi tank and dual purpose, you might want a 68cu in. Some might go smaller depending on position for speedball, but larger for woodsball. It depends on how much paint you expect to use. Dye Rotor? Google online. Look for a sale or maybe a package deal. Mask? Any double pane insulated mask for reduced fogging. $40-150 depending on brand and model. Note that you can find a lot with Google. Just remember that you may have to pay shipping and handling more than once if you buy each item from different vendors. Note you can also Google for vendor complaints and such to check up on any place you might buy stuff from. Shadow Wolf
