If i got fired will i still be able to get unemployment benefits?

No you will not be able to get unemployment benefits. The fact that your employer never told you that you were fired is irrelevant. Forging a Dr excuse is classified as gross misconduct. Unemployment will reject your claim for benefits. You will have the chance to appeal, however it's unlikely that your appeal will change anything. Your employer is going to fight the claim. You will then be forced to live off your savings until you can get a new job.

If you were not told you were fired why did you not return to work? That would be quitting. unemployment will determine who is correct, you or the employer, and if you quit or were discharged. They accept the most believable persons story.
