-
Dear all, My thesis has been accepted for oral presentation in a conference in Palermo, Italy. Actually I am from Iran and there is no direct flight to Palermo so I must flight to Rome first and then travel to Palermo. The question I am gonna ask is how can I travel from Rome to Palermo? I mean if you were in my shoes and, did you choose to flight or travel by ship or train? the word is I want to travel with lowest cost as possible! thanks in advance.

Answer:
I think the flight Roma-Palermo is the best way: faster (1 hour and 10 min.) and more convenient. You know the prices of the flights change day by day, but you can make out with 60/70 euros. Look at: www.expedia.it; www.easyjet.com; www.blu-express.com; www.alitalia.com. Train... long time and more expensive (sometimes). Nonstop train (called Intercity) takes 11 hours and 20 min. and costs 65 euros. Other solutions (less than 11 hours, but with change of train in Napoli or other city) cost around 90/100 euros. Look at: www.trenitalia.com
