Why does my baby sweat when he drinks his bottle?
-
Ever since he was about a month old my son has sweat profusely from his head/neck whenever he drinks his bottle. Doesn't matter what was in it, breast milk, formula, homogenized milk, he sweats. Sometimes it's worse than others, but it's consistently every bottle. The milk isn't very hot, and he's not lactose intolerant. The bottle flows well, so it's not like he's having to work hard to get the milk. Does this happen to anyone else? Do you know why it happens? He doesn't really drink fast or slow, he's not a guzzler lol. He just drinks at a steady pace and takes breathers if he wants/needs to. It's one of the only times he sweats and I don't know why. I don't think he's overheating, he drinks his bottle sitting in my lap with his head on my arm or shoulder and he never gets hot just snuggling us.

I've never heard of this. It doesn't sound normal. It's not good for babies to sweat, it means that they are over heated which is dangerous. I would ask the doctor about it.
For the best answers, search on this site https://smarturl.im/aDRBu Some people are "naturally hot" and tend to sweat long before the other people in a group start to sweat under hot conditions. This is also true in some people while eating. If you are a "naturally cold" person you will either over dress the baby or turn up the heating that degree or two higher to suit you and not necessarily the baby. It can also be because the bottle is just too hot and it is the same as if you drink any hot beverage during a hot day. Too give a good answer we need a bit more details on the age of the baby, what is the climate like at this stage, etc.

Hello, Hyperhidrosis, also known as polyhidrosis or sudorrhea means excessive sweating; sweating too much The most active regions of perspiration include the hands, feet, armpits and the groin area because of a relatively high concentration of sweat glands in those areas. There are two types of hyperhidrosis. Primary focal hyperhidrosis refers to overactive sweat glands that affect certain areas of the body, such as the hands, feet, face or underarms. This form of hyperhidrosis can't be prevented and isn't contagious because it was probably inherited (although the condition may skip a generation). Secondary generalized hyperhidrosis is total body sweating prompted by secondary medical conditions or medications.
