How do I get more blog followers?

How can I get followers for my blog?

• I recently made my own blog (salmagundi2.blogspot.com), and I don't know how to promote it to get some followers. My "mission" is to share the little joys of life with others; a blog to try and bring smiles or to give people something to think about. I love quotes, so people who like quotes would probably like my blog. I believe I have a good enough design, content, etc., but I don't know how to start. I tried a giveaway, but I still have 0 entries to the giveaway. The prize isn't too lame-- it's a book autographed by Bob Harper from The Biggest Loser. Any help would be much appreciated.

  Try visiting other established blogs with similar interests and as you contribute you can invite some bloggers to visit your site. Building something succesful takes time, planning, tact and patience. You do nt have to offer incentives for people to visit your site. People brouse sites because the content is intresting.
