Model of handycam would help you to get the better answers. Some computer specs also. I would not mind betting that you should be looking for firewire to firewire (IEEE 1394) hook up.

^^^haha! that's pretty funny... um there should be a port on the camera that you can plug a cord into that will also plug into your computers USB port. Also you can look it up on their website :P
