How do you convert a .wlmp file to a .mov file?
-
I have been making and editing a video for my media project at school. I used Windows Live Movie Maker to edit it, and the file is saved as a .wlmp file, but my teacher requires for the video to be a Quicktime file. I have finished editing, and I want to convert my .wlmp file into a .mov Quicktime file. How do I do this?

wlmp stands for Windows Live Movie Project. wlmp files are incomplete files that need to be exported as a mp4 or something to be complete. Its kind of like with photoshop where the files you edit are saved as a project file which I believe is .psd or something. Anyway for that photo to be opened by a regular picture viewer you must export the project as a .jpg or a .png file. The same rule applies for Movie Maker. When you save it, there are many such as DVD file or for a mobile device or for a computer etc. What you have to do is save it for computer which has a standard .wmv format which can be opened only by Windows Media Player or Windows Live Movie Maker. The only way you can save it as a .mov file is to convert it. I use Hamster Lite Video Converter but it is not supported. However, QuickTime can support other file extensions such as .mp4 or mpeg but if you strictly want .mov than use this program: http://www.convertwmvtomov.com/ I haven't completely tried this program but hope it works. :)
