What is it like studying in Malaysia?

U.S citizen... studying masters in malaysia? good idea?

  • Hey everyone, im just about to graduate from college here in the U.S i am going to graduate with B.S in Chemistry from University of Maryland, college park. a pretty competitive school. so anyways , i was thinking about doing my masters in information technology in Malaysia right after i graduate, and i know the education system there is cheap and very good. but does it really compare to the u.s i mean people would kill to come do masters or study here, am i just giving it away by doing my masters in malaysia, ive been hearing that alot, but i dont know what to do. To be honest, after i graduate , im thinking about just staying in the middle east for a job and all, most likely in qatar! so is studying there okay, or should i just stay in the U.S , since id have better job opportunities with a masters in the U.S

Nope, just stay where you are. IT stuff are mostly a western specialty (well other than Japan I guess).

At some points, yes. At some others, no. I'm pretty sure the course you are taking is somewhat similar elsewhere.. the only advantage you have here is because of the currency. and I cant think of any more good points on why else..hmm..

Why do you think people here are taking their Masters overseas like in the States or UK rather than at home? Think about it. True it mightbe cheaper but......

And again, why do Malaysians want to study overseas? Lol Never heard of a SMARTER question.. Just stay where you are. The only good that can come out of studying in Malaysia is it's cheaper..why is it cheaper? ;)

Look for yourself: Research for the top 200 or 400 universities in the world...and see where one from Malaysia is listed. Research on technical papers and Books on IT published by a University from Malaysia.... how many can you find ?
