Ingrown toenail surgery! (URGENT!)?
-
Does the surgery hurt? I have had a bad ingrown toenail for 3 years now and have been hiding it from the world. I had to quit karate so nobody would see and take me to the doctor. I am 13 years old and I don't know what to do. It is now getting so much worse and it's more red and swollen than it ever has been. Lastly, when you are at the doctor to see if you have an ingrown toenail, what do they do? Does that hurt? Please tell me the procedure of the surgery and which parts hurt. Seriously, I don't know if I can do this without taking the cowards way out. (Suicide) I am not a sharp-object person. P.S. Can you use anesthesia?

Listen, I know your ingrown toenail must hurt right now. Here are you options: 1.) Don't do anything, and put up with the pain getting worse and worse for the rest of your life. (Not a good option) 2.) Suicide - never have pain again - but also never have fun or live your life again. (the WORST option). 3.) See a doctor - The pain you get at the doctors office will be short-lived, and then your foot will feel real good again. (Best solution for sure). Putting off a medical problem hardly ever turns out for the best. Get it done right away, and just think that in a week, you will be glad you did it. Good Luck !

Hi, if you have the surgery the worst part is the injections. They're really painful but don't let that scare you because after that your toes are completely numb. I don't know whether it depends on where you go but they used a sheet so that I didn't even see what was happening and definitely didn't feel a thing. For a few weeks after you'll have to look after your toes in bandaging etc. but after they'll be painless and you'll be grateful. You'll be fine! :)

It feel weird but the surgery doesnt hurt. You're toe will be irritatingly sore for the next couple weeks after though. They inject a numbing medicine into your toe.

You're going to commit suicide because of an ingrown toenail? Go to the doctor and get it taken care of the injections will hurt but then it'll be fine. If you don't go you're going to end up with an infection which could result in you loosing your entire foot so get it taken care of.

I also have an ingrown toenail, and I also have suicidal tendencies. My ingrown nail is now nearing its third year. Because of my mental condition, anything can lead me to have thoughts of suicide - having to clean my room, making an appointment, etc. So, I understand how you feel. I only hope that we both get over our fears and get these toes taken care of. I'm sure it can't be that bad.
