Why do people blame the government, Bush, Obama, etc for the economy?? It has NOTHING to do with them!?

• The poor state of the economy has NOTHING to do with the government, bush, obama, congress, the tea party, or the federal reserve. Whose fault is it? Mostly the people! YOU! 80% of the blame for the late 2000s recessions lies on average American citizens, and perhaps 20% lies on the banks. The national debt has nothing to do with people losing homes or not having a lot of money- PERSONAL debt does. Individual people having too much debt, spending money they don;t have on things they can't afford, and taking loans they can't pay back. How can anyone possibly blame bush for someone amassing credit card debt? If someone goes on a shopping spree with a credit card , gets a $5000 bill and doesn't pay it, they are $5000 in debt, right? So how exactly did obama contribute to that individual's debt? The crisis occurred because people spend money they didn't have on things they couldnt afford, took loans they couldnt repay, and acquired credit card bills they never paid. they amassed debt and ignored the future, counting on the system "marching on" and assuming there would be no breaks or problems with the machine. granted, the banks are to blame by making it far too easy to get loans, and made loans whose interest they couldnt afford to maintain.++ If someone saved their money, only bought what they could afford, always paid all bills on time, never acquired debt, and avoided risky speculation/investing, they would be 110% unaffected by the recession, as long as they kept their jobs. In fact, losing your job is the ONLY factor out of your control under conventional circumstances*. Other than that, debt is entirely in your control. (* Emergencies don't count- injuries, health problems, accidents, etc are obviously not the persons fault.) thinking bush caused all the problems, or thinking that obama even COULD fix it is absurd. i concede that government tax policy can influence the economy a little, but the majority of economic responsibility is on us
