Westminster Model version of 25th Amendment?
-
Section 4 of the 25th Amendment to the United States constitution allows the President of the United States to be declared unable to discharge his duties. It requires the Vice-President and a majority of the cabinet to agree. Then, the VP becomes acting President. It also has procedures for the President resuming power, etc. In the British Westminster form of government where the head of government is the Prime Minister, is there a similar law or precedent. Can a majority of the Cabinet vote to declare the PM unfit to continue in office. I don't mean a no-confidence vote, which is done by the entire House and will often trigger a new election.
