Is there a cure for anxiety?

  • Please realy need help now! I have been getting anxiety for the last month (I know not long) I'm so sick of it now it's controlling me I can't even leave the house without getting dizzy. I've seen so many different sites saying that they can 'cure' anxiety but serouisly does anything work? I've been put on Propronalol 40mg but I refuse to take it cos' it gives me really bad headache's & I don't want to have to rely on tablets I'm only 21 & I can't even do a simple thing as go to the shop cos' I get dizzy please, please serouisly need REAL help that works! I feel like I'm going round in circle's I have seen such sites as 'panic away' or 'the linden method' I've also signed up to aniccenter.net/ I also downloaded a program of bittorrent called 'Attacking Anxiety and Depression [Midwest Center for Stress and Anxiety]' I am pretty tempted to download 'linden method' but not sure if it's worth the money. Please need a real answer and need to start seeing propper results.. prefably something that doesn't cost.. please don't say stuff like 'Aww it's all in your head' YES i know it's all my head thats why I need it out of my head! also dont say stuff like 'youve been having a panic attack' I KNOW i've been having a panic attack thats why i'm asking people who've seen real results for help! Thankss

I have on ossassion suffered from anxiety there are no miracle cures you just have to tell yourself to stop being so silly. I know it sounds a bit simplistic however ask yourself what is the worse that could happen. If you was standing on a railway track and a train was steaming towards you anxiety or no anxiety you would soon jump out of the way. It's just a coping mechanism and everybody suffers from anxiety to some degree or the other. I don't think you will find a solution in a book or course. If you are totally inhibited then seek out a counsellor to talk through your issues. As you get older and grow in confidence your symptoms will diminish. Be strong and hang in there. Try steering your own destiny. Good luck.

I suffered from anxiety and still do. I dont know what to tell you I had somewhat severe to where I would experience anxiety attacks over homework since I am a perfectionist. I learned to control mine by using positive thinking techniques. I know it sounds stupid but I would use the invisioning yourself doing it in a positive way. So like with homework I would get so worked up about homework and doing it worrying about how awful it was I would have panic attacks and get stomach aches head aches. So i went to a psychiatrist and we started doing that positve think so I was hard at first i really had to force myself but anxiety is all mental so you have to train your mind to think positively instead of negative. It was hard at first but it got easier after a while. I am 20 now and yes there is really not much good help online. I just trained myself to think positive i would say it isnt as bad as I think it is what is the worst that could happen it is all in my head. YOu can also when you realize you are geting stressed take deep breaths that also sounds stupid but it really helps stop everything sit down and take some deep breaths in and out only concentrate on that in and out in and out it is kind of distraction. other wise i took clonazepam for a while I took other stuff before that but didnt like it. I am not a fan of drugs I had ADHD and have been on adderal and it makes me feel like a robot sometimes. but clonazepam takes the edge off a little i know i get your point about the drugs but if there is something out there that takes the edge of a little and doesnt change you too much why not get some of your life back. I hope this helps the breathing and positive attitude stuff sounded stupid but they help also does some sort of exercise like walking or something little get the endorphins going and burning some nervous energy i know it is hard because being nerovous all the time makes you tired and physical activity is the last thing you want but it helps me sometimes again hope it helps

you should consider therapy, i have suffered from anxiety for a year now and in the summe ri went to see a cognitive behavioural therapist who was also a hypnotherapist who used really good techniques and is a good way of talkign about the problem, i found it really really helped but you cannot think that you can overcome anxiety by medication it is psychological and there are tricks and patterns that you can get used to doing to help. i find anxiety will never go away but as long as i can keep it under control i find i am able to do things normally without stress.

These are probably your best bet: Mindfulness, CBT, diaphragmatic breathing. The easiest to master is diaphragmatic breathing. This helps if your anxiety is due to you hyperventilating (breathing too fast). Note that even breathing slightly too fast can increase the carbon dioxide levels in your blood stream which can trigger a physiological trigger for your anxiety. Hence why the breathing can stop the panic coming on. CBT is more to do with awareness and analysis of your thoughts. The idea is that having negative automatic thoughts can lead to anxiety. So you might have thoughts that something bad is going to happen, when in fact these thoughts never come true. The idea is to stop automatic thoughts which are based on false beliefs. Mindfulness can be described as non-judgemental awareness of the present moment. It is possible to do an 8-week course in this, or to listen to CDs. Jon Kabat-Zinn does this kind of thing. I would recommend the book Full Catastrophe Living, although there are other good books out there. Also once an anxious state is reached, it can create what is known as a vicious circle. i.e. you are nervous, so you feel bad, so you have more negative thoughts because you feel bad, which leads to more anxiety. The most powerful technique is to use these techniques in conjunction with each other.

If you are experiencing anxiety or have an anxiety disorder, you may want to try alternative therapies. The basic goal of alternative therapy is to improve your general health and relieve specific symptoms with few or no side effects. Learn here https://tr.im/fkcFK Alternative therapies can be helpful in reducing anxiety, but it may take some time before you see results. If you are having a panic attack or other severe symptoms of anxiety, alternative therapy alone will probably not be enough. Alternative therapies often work best when used along with traditional treatment like medication and counseling. It’s always best to consult your doctor before beginning an alternative treatment program, especially one that includes herbal remedies. Some of these can have serious side effects, and some can be harmful if combined with certain prescription medications.
