How long does it take to get a associates degree and bachelor degree?

  • i will be going to graduate soon and i am thinking going to community college and getting an associates degree then transfer to 4 year college and get a bachelor degree but i don't know how long this would take so if some one can give me an idea i heard its 2 years for the associates degree the 4 for the bachelors so will it take 6 years? please help

  • Answer:

Normally it takes 2 for aa or as degree and 4 years for ba or bs. But it all depends on if you take the required classes and are on track. If you drop a class or fail then it will take you longer. I know many people who recieved there ba and bs in 5-6 years because the failed some classes. so just stay on track is my advice.

2 years for the associates, plus an additional 2 years for the bachelors coming to 4 years in total for both degrees. So they call the bachelors a 4 year degree, cuz it takes 4 years of schooling (altogether) to get it.

It does take 4 years to earn a bachelor degree but the first two years when you are taking general education classes you will obtain an associates degree. You can go to a community college for the first two years then transfer to a 4 year college for your last two years. It will take collectively 4 years total to obtain both degrees.

it takes two years to get your associates and then two more years to get your bachelors

You have two choices: You can attend a four-year college and go straight through to Bachelors degree. Or you can get a two-year Associates degree at a community college, and then transfer to a four-year school for two years to complete your Bachelors (you'd still have four years total). Going the community college route will save you a substantial amount of money, but some people don't feel community colleges offer as good an education as four-year schools. more college admissions advice https://sites.google.com/site/paul7collegeinfo/ Many community colleges have special programs for students who wish to eventually transfer to a four-year school. Inquire at your community college.

Wow a lot of stupid answers here. They are referred to as 2 and 4 year degrees respectively. The AVERAGE length of time they are completed in is NOT 2 and 4 years. On average it's a little over 3 years for an associate's and j4 to 5 years for the bachelor's. The Bachelor's is closer to the time categorizing because the knowledge covered in the Associate's portion is a lot more difficult for a multitude of reasons. The material covered in the Bachelor's is a lot of focus on key points of previous material so it's not diving into uncharted waters like the associate's was. I can guarantee every single person that answered this question does not have a degree because of their answers. There's no shortage of very stupid people always looking for opportunities to look and feel smart. It's a sad state of affairs in the USA today.....

First you complete your 2 year associates degree. Then you can transfer to a 4 year degree college, where you'll get admission to direct 3nd year. Because 2 year associates degree is equivalent to the first 2 years of a 4 year degree college. So after completing your 2 year associates you'll get admission to direct 3 year of 4 year degree college. So 2 years there and you'll get your degree. so in 4 years you'll get your associates and bachelors degree. Good luck! (:

I would suggest going directly to a bachelor's program. If you get your associate degree then want to transfer, you may lose some credit hours (not necessarily all the courses will be transferred to the four years degree).
