What speakers should I get to play music at parties?

  • I am looking into getting some speakers to play music at parties. But I am a sound novice and don't know what to get. So I got a couple questions: Can I buy additional speakers to add to my initial setup, or do I have to settle with what I have? I'm asking because because my current budget is only $200, but I'll have more later. What's a solid set of speakers that doesn't distort at loud volumes? Also, it'd be great if they could be moveable, like to play in a car. But size doesn't matter. And finally, Are all speakers compatible to connect with each other?
