Do you need a special foreign license to drive in Germany?

Do I need do something before drive in UK as a student with foreign driving license?

  • Answer:

It depends in which country your licence was issued. If from outside the EU, your 12 months starts from when you became resident (the first entry into the UK), you don't get 3 separate years worth if you go home for the summer holidays. Use the official tool in the link

You need first to make sure you are insured. Very important. Your 12 months start when you come into the country as a resident. You can't restart the time with a day trip to Calais. An extended overseas visit involving giving up your UK address would count

I have traveled to the UK several times and never had to worry about which licence I have. I lived there for two years and never had a problem. However if you live somewhere that drives on the right, you need to familiarize yourself with the rules for driving on the left particularly and the general rules which may differ from what you know. The UK has a wonderful public transport system. Save the stress and go by bus/train/tube.

First entry as shown by the stamp in your passport. Getting insured on a car, which is mandatory, will be the difficult part for you.

No you're fine as long as the vehicle you're driving is fully insured and taxed.
