How to get through a boring book report.?

• Hi, im 13 and in 7th grade. For school I have to read a book that in my opinion is very boring and is pretty much about a kid with a normal life and he decideds to write in a journal about it. It goes on and on and on like this for 312 pages. I have to read the book and answer 10 questions about every week (for example April 10 to April 17), and i need to do a ton of characterazation papers. And the worst part is... I have to do this all by friday! We had 3 weeks to do it, but i was very sick the 1st week and couldnt really do anything. But because i was there when we recived the assinment, it is due the same date as the rest of the class. Im am on page 146 right now, so i'm about half way done, but the content and text in the book bores me. I keep trying really hard to pay attention to the book and get it over with, but i find myself just saying the words in my head while my mind drifts of into other places; even no matter how hard i try, it keeps happening. I dont think that is ADD, but my brother has ADD, this dosn't happen with book that i like. Do you have any suggestions on how to get my way through this book without being totally bored and to ACTUALLY pay attention to the book? Please answerr XOXO
