Good electronic pianos have the same kind of "touch" as a regular piano, so you play them the same way. You can try to teach yourself, but I would suggest taking lessons for several years, unless you just happen to have the "gift" of being able to play by ear. I would suggest going to a musical instrument store, and trying out electronic pianos. You should also try out "personal keyboards", which have much more on them than do the pianos. Get a demonstration. Both Casio and Yamaha have excellent keyboards available at a much lower cost than a good electronic piano. I use one of each myself.

I guess you'll need to plug it in and turn it on. There will probably be some controls to select and alter the sound. Then, press the keys with your fingers, just as you would any keyboard instrument

Saw your following question of later post. Incredible. Have you never saw anyone play a piano or keyboard before? I must say, this it 'too' naive a question in the first place. (If not a joke.) Or, maybe just so uncertain of even trying. Don't be so concerned and just get into it, even by ear. Listen to the music, kid.
