I need an idea for a short story.

I need a good Idea for a fantasy story line/Plot?

  • I have the race and character in which the story revolves around, I just don't have an idea. I'm interested in things like "Lord of the Rings" and "Inheritance." I have created a unique race and language of my own, and I have desired to create a story that takes place among this race. I have had many ideas but all of them I have abandoned. I need (at least an idea) for a story line that is full, strong and will stick. I would most appreciate any help you could provide. Keep in mind I have already created the race. The creatures in this race are very tall, grotesque beasts. They like living in peace but they also like fighting. They live in small villages or live among themselves as rouges. There is even a mount I have for the race that are loyal and mindless creatures... a lot like cows.

    I've got a what if. What if these creatures live in peace. They keep to themselves. But then man comes and tries to push the creatures from their homelands. Men want these lands because they are at war with goblins and orcs. Dragons have also been seen qorking with the evil things. Of course the creatures are just cought in the middle of this struggle and many of their villages are burned. One particular village group decides to immigrate to another land where it is safe to live in peace. They will have to go into both men and evil lands territories to get to the promised land or birthplace of thesd creatures. Unfortunately many of them are lost in this perilous journey. Some are slain by men, others by orcs, some at grasped by dragon feets and are let go of 100 feet in the air. Then they arrive only to find that their promised land wasn't as they promised. It's all I got.
