What is the title of a old NES game?

• I am looking for the title of a old NES game where you and a second player played as armored comandoes fighting aliens or mystic creatures. The gameplay style was top down view and all action scrolled towards the top of the screen, although in some levels I think it may have been side scroller esk. Anyway you have guns and armor and such and the player characters were animated like very chubby or round would be a decent way to describe it. One notable aspect of the game was the boss fights could be won with single hits if you had an arow and hit them dead center in the eye as they floated I believe and the final boss or the boos I could never beat had a sword and gave one to each player and the sword would spin around the characters helicopter rotor style at a rather slow pace rather than a traditiona slash. Any help would be great aas the title eludes me and my memorie is a bit spotty but ai hope I described it aaquetly enough for some to figure it out. Many thanks in advance
