Is CSU Sacramento a good school for electrical engineering?

Sacramento State has a pretty good and dedicated ECS program. As far as its ranking amongst other CSUs, I would place it in the middle. The GPA requirement was a 3.2 in 2010 when the admission records were released, but to be honest, all of these "rankings" are going to DRASTICALLY change in the next year or two as the budget for the UCs and CSUs are taken away this fall, and the schools have to set the admission requirement bar even higher. CSU LA isn't a "great" engineering school. Rutgers New Brunswick is very strong for engineering, and should be a lot cheaper for you than a university in CA will be. One idea is to stay in NJ, get your engineering degree, then find a job in engineering in California. If you really want to go to college in CA, the best engineering schools near southern CA are UCLA, Cal Poly SLO, Cal Tech, UC Irvine, UCSD, USC, UCSB, Harvey Mudd, Cal Poly Pomona, Santa Clara U, U San Diego, Loyola Marymount. Some of those are right in LA. Others, you'd need to see if they're in the right location for you.
