What is the affect of temperature on corrosion?

Hi, this is regarding a science project I am doing in school - currently in Grade 12. Through research, I've found that as temperature increases, the corrosion/rust that is formed also increases. However, when I performed the experiment, my results have only partly supported that statement. In the experiment, I submerged Indoor Iron nails (hence, are only slightly galvanized) into containers containing 2% salt solution, which were then placed into conditions of constant temperatures: freezer (zero degrees Celsius), fridge (4 degrees C), room temperature (25-29 degrees C), and an incubator (set at 50 degrees C). They were left in these conditions for 2 weeks. Prior, measurements were taken of the weight of the container, container+nail, and container+nail+solution. At the end of the experiment, the containers including the nail and solution were weighed again. From this I found the weight of the solution only (which includes the rust formed), and calculated percentage change. The highest to lowest decrease of weight is shown below: Incubator > Room Temperature > Fridge > Freezer this result does correlate to the statement. HOWEVER, the rust was also filtered out at the end. Below shows how much rust was measured, from highest to lowest Incubator > Fridge > Room Temperature > Freezer As you can see, this time the containers in the fridge produced more rust than in room temperature. I do not understand why the weight change of the solution gives a different conclusion to the mass of rust that was filtered out. Could it be the evaporation which caused the dramatic decrease in the weight of the solution? I did notice that the incubator containers solution level had a significant drop by the end of the experiment. Does anyone have any idea what else could have gone wrong? Could you help me explain why the results from filtering the rust did not go according to the statement that 'the higher the temperature, the more corrosion occurs', but measuring the percentage change of the solutions weight did? please help > _ < !!!!
