Advice on doing a presentation.

Any presentation advice?

  • I have a three minute presentation tomorrow and I have to remember it all! It may not seem too long to remember for older kids but ive never had to do anything like it before. I was wondering if you got any advice for remembering things in a short amount of time. Also, I have trouble controlling nerves during the presentations. Like I shake a lot and find it hard to breathe and speak? Do you know how to get over this?

  • Answer:

The more familiar you are with your material, the more confident you'll be. So practice, practice and practice some more! That way, if you were to "forget" anything, you could sorta BS it and make it sound good. Pretend to be confident. Stand up tall and speak slowly and project your voice. Sometimes, that'll get us in the groove of getting more comfortable. Don't make eye contact if it makes you uncomfortable; rather, look at the tops of their heads. Practice in front of your family, your pets, your friends. This will also help you become more familiar hearing your own voice, which can be a cause of nervousness (i.e. I sound like that? haha).

For presentation the most important requirement is confidence and for confidence during presentation you have to assume that only you are the genius and all the people listening your presentation are idiots. The other thing you have to do is that don't look into the eyes of anyone, just look at the audience but don't look any body specifically.
