Answer:
Seventh grade year is early to start, few schools do that (I did that too though, only sixth grade instead "VERY few school allow this") MAke sure on your application to show you have endurance, kids this young (sometimes older) cannot handle being away from home and the workload. Act like it is a college application, serious. I have been too two different one (Went to one for 2 years, came home for half a year, where they skipped me two grades, I then went to another boarding school, and still there) Boarding school are A LOT of fun, plus college like kids in boarding school. You adjust quicker and most of the time a better education ( sometimes) Make sure you have at least majority of your report card as As Make sure you can list community service Have teachers as letter of recommendation I hope I helped a little! :) If you want for details just add them to the question, I will answer more Good luck :)

Well, since those are very competitive schools, I'd definitely choose a back up school. It's good you're starting in 7th grade though, since I didnt even think about boarding school until 2 months before apps were do. However, I'm attending Blair Academy in the fall so its all good..my tip: start studying NOW for the SSAT. there is so much vocab you have to learn and if you haven't taken algebra 1 or geometry yet, you need to study that. Buy the Princeton Review SSAT prep book and also the Kaplan SSAT prep book they have lists of frequently tested words that helped me A LOT! I would have done SO bad without those books. Secondly, keep your grades up. They look at your grades from sixth to eighth grade. You'll need near to perfect grades for andover and exeter. And of course, don't get on teachers bad sides because you have to have an english and math teacher recommendation for each of these schools. Also, for Exeter, you need an extracurricular activity recommendation which means sports, community service, instrument, etc. Another thing, it REALLYYY helps if you're great at a sport. You have a better chance if you meet with a coach during your interview and if they are interested in you. The interview is super important too!! Well, good luck! again, apply to a safety school. my sort-of safet school was blair, even though they have like 25-28% acceptance rate. I was kind of taking a chance not applying to a school with a higher acceptance rate. If I were you, I'd add on another school. Blair Academy is great and so is Taft School, I visited there. They're both beautiful. But you need one with a higher acceptance rate then those if you HAVE to go to boarding school.
