Does an enlarged/swollen lymph node hurt when touched?

Enlarged lymph node at the top part of the left ear?

  • my father has an enlarge or swollen lymph node on his head located at the upper part of his left ear. it has been there for a couple of months or maybe years. it doesnt bother him nor does it hurt when touched or pressed. im just worried about my father. it disappeared a while back but he cant remember what he had done in the past that led to that, but now the lymph node is back to its enlarge stage and is ever growing. help.

  • Answer:

Your dad doesn't have a lymph node at the top of his ear--nor does anyone. What he has is obviously a tumor/cyst of a different origin--like a sebaceous cyst, these are common in that area. He needs to just go in and see a doctor. He will do what he wants about this so just try to encourage him to call the doctor if it is worrying you. Best Wishes.
