How do you change the headlight on a Jeep Wrangler?

How do you change a headlight on a 1997 Jeep Wrangler sport?

  • Answer:

I have a 1997 Jeep Wrangler. One of the headlights has burned out Have been trying to get that outside rim off so that I can get to the inside rim that holds the headlight on. butr am unable to do so. The outside rim has three of something other then a regular screwdriver screw. Don't think it is an Allen wrench type of screw or what. Can you tell me what holds this outside rim on and how do I get it off so I can get to the inside rim holding the lheadlight on. thank you Will Keller Dear Will, You may have figured this out by the time I'm responding, but in case you haven't. What you need is a T15 driver bit, the end will look like a star, preferably with a T-shaped handle to produce more torque. Keep in mind, you need one slender enough to fit into narrow spaces. You can pick one up at your local hardware or automotive parts store. Do yourself a favor and keep the tool once you've used it, Jeep uses the same size screws with the same end on them throughout the vehicle. Hope this helps. Adam Chapman
