How do i fix my cassette player in my car?

How do you fix a cassette player in a 1995 Ford Taurus that doesn't play music out speakers on the right side of the car The left side is fine and the radio plays on all of the cars speakers?

  • Answer:

Answer You will need a new stereo. You see the casette reder is a small sensor that reads 2 separate sections on the tape. For some reason only 1 section of this sensor is broken. The part of the sensor that is broken controls the left stereo channel for the tape. It could be fixed but it wouldn't be worth it, new tape deck less than $100, stereo repair by certified tech plus parts, $300. This advice: Priceless. In addition to the priceless advice above... You could probably pickup a used radio that will plug right in for dirt cheap. Check around at local / online auto salvage yard & sources.
