  Using emoticons (a.k.a. little smiley faces) lets you express how you feel when you chat online. You can calculate the size of an emoticon in terms of pixels. Most people normally use a size of 19 by 19 pixels, but you can create emoticons that are up to 50 by 50 pixels. Once you learn how to modify your emoticons via software, you can easily create bigger ones.
