What is pf usage in the task manager?

How much PF (Page File) Usage should I be using under the performance tab in the task manager with a 2GB RAM and 1.5TB of my Hard Drive?

  • Answer:

The page file is basically wannabe RAM. MS's Technet states that page file should be 1.5 times the ram that you have. For more info on PF check out http://www.overclock.net/windows/448818-pagefile-windows-7-do-you-even.html.

For maximum performance, a PC should be equipped with as much RAM as possible. Make sure you leave as much RAM as you can as free space. Only install what you need on your computer and it will run much faster.

RAM has nothing to do with the size of the hard-drive. If you are running a 32-bit operating system on your PC, you can't use anything more than 4GB. You should buy at least 2GB, but go for the 4GB if you are gaming on that machine.
